I see a couple topics on this per day, so Im hoping that this post will mostly answer the frequent questions. Feel free to add anything I miss for those that have found things out that I havent. Ive ran through that quest only twice.
1)For starters I see a lot of players get upset that the dome falls despite not sabatoging the dome directly for Riley. While sabatoging/not sabatoging definitely plays thebiggestrole. Its not the end all be all. Theres other things that keep the city standing like turning in Paiges guns to Alios and killing the gun dealer, Choosing the beserker to help vivian, helping Caleb kick out the Separatists, not planting a listening device, turning in the fake IDs, killing Baxters old outlaws (Hunter) for Gustav, and maybe beating up Riley for Barback though Im only saying that because it pops up with a message of choosing sides in the conflict.
2)A lot of people will help the Separatists and the Clerics and are confused how the Outlaws end up destroying the city. I think that in game, the sides are the Clerics/Berserkers vs. The Separatists/Outlaws so helping the Seps but not the outlaws can still result in a destroyed city.
3)Theres a point system I assume. The problem is that we have no idea what quests count for what points. I know a lot of people will say that they played relatively neutral and helped each faction a little so why did the city get destroyed since you never favored a particular side? Well assumably because some of the quests you did counted more for one side while the others counted less. If you want a specific outcome then itd be best to purely favor the Clerics/Berserkers or the Outlaws/Separatists and not to play the field and risk getting an outcome you dont want.
Additionally theres probably a few bugs so its best to minimize the risk that a quest counts for a disproportionate amount t of points to one side by always siding with the two factions that lead t your preferred outcome.
Okay, I think that covers most of the questions Ive been seeing. If you guys have any other insight to add, feel free. Just looking to help out people because without hard numbers, the quest becomes pretty confusing
I think that in game, the sides are the Clerics/Berserkers vs. The Separatists/Outlaws so helping the Seps but not the outlaws can still result in a destroyed city.
If that is true, then that is simply dumb, and not at all communicated well in-game.
Fair, both the Outlaws and the Separatists have reasons for wanting to take out the Clerics there. Nyra suggests that the city would be better run by her or another Alb, and we see the Seps supplying Paige with the guns. While not outright said, I think the Seps want the Dome for themselves and planned to use the Outlaws as extra bullet sponges in the attack just to betray them after the battle and take over for themeselves.
But youre right that one line of dialogue and one mission with a seemingly rogue Sep isnt enough to clearly indicate the sides.
Not to mention that both Fenk and Nyra say something about being able to trust the clerics, when you help them get the job/stay in the city.
I think thats sort of common in PB games, though. Things often turn out unpredictably, and what seems like the good choice can end badly for you.
agreed, it felt like separatist are on the clerics side. now i have the dome citiy destroyed because i helped the clerics and separatists. its just dumb
-Kill the Alb Gun smuggler -Give the smuggled guns to Clerics. -Dont give Riley the shield module and let the clerics install it.(Very Important)-Dont bug the Communications Tower and fix it. -Give the Fake ID to Cleric and let them escort outlaw out. -Kill the outlaws outside for Gustav -Get the Mech reinforcements for Gotfried. -Dont let Darrell become the mechanic.
-Fenk Quest (Use suggestion on Caleb, and the berserk/separatists will live in peace together)(Very Important)-Mechanic Quest (Use Nyra and tell Vivan to keep an eye on her) -The bully quest (This one i dont know but assuming all outlaws as assholes just beat up Riley anyway)
-This results in the outlaws getting owned badly and separatists will not help them.
Things that dont play apart of it.
-Thieves guild (They are neutral and have no love or albs or any factions)
Didnt know about using suggestion on Caleb. Brabak and Caleb are dicks anyways, most berserkers are. Make Nyra the technician and ensure to tell Vivian to watch her. Looks like this makes it that Separatists do not join the revolt and outlaws get pasted. Basically if one is going to be a Cleric, its better to do the Domed city quests after you become one.
K i tired it and was not able to make this option appear either. Even after becoming a Cleric and having suggestion there was not a single option to use suggestion on caleb. I tried different order of talking to the 3 parties but nothing worked.
Hey thanks for the info, could you describe how exactly you managed to use suggestion on Caleb and when? Is that after the quest? The only time I could use suggestion was on Jorg. I have tried so many different options and orders when speaking to the three characters involved but I never got this solution to work, the albs are always executed. Maybe the chapter plays a role, too?
Dont think there is an option for suggestion. You cant get mech to the city either unless you fix the comm tower. So dunno about this guide..
Theres a new patch out that and it was mentioned in the changelog that there was an issue with that quest and that it has been fixed. I havent tried it out yet because it started a new play through.
For starters I see a lot of players get upset that the dome falls despite not sabatoging the dome directly for Riley. While sabatoging/not sabatoging definitely plays the biggest role.
No, people get upset because Riley tells you that he had access to the dome as if you gave the part to him.
Ive seen people get upset at both. If youre upset at the dialogue bug then I dont have a solution other than getting him executed by siding with the clerics.
I dont think its dialogue bug. Im like 90% sure that Outlaws should be able to take the city without Albs attacking. Imho its supposed to go like this:
a) Helped Clerics more – Clerics hold the city.
b) Helped Outlaws more and Riley didnt get the device – Outlaws take the city.
c) Helped Outlaws more and Riley modified the device – Dome falls and Albs invade.
But triggers are screwed and unless you help Clerics, game goes to outcome C, no matter if you gave Rileys the device or not, or if hes even alive. You can kill him first time you see him, and other survivors will still act like he destroyed the dome.
there is no B, in C outlaw take the city and Albs attack before they can react and organize a proper defence.
Im pretty sure they would still be able to hold the city, unless Riley destroys the dome. There isnt one piece of dialogue on survivors, that suggests Albs did anything before Dome got fucked.
Is it a dialogue bug though? Maybe theres an outcome in which Outlaws can retake the Dome city and not die to the Albs.
i sided with the clerics/Berserkers. I got the seps banned from the city. The suggestor goes to fenk and tells him to leave the city. Only fenk runs out to the hut where hunters fake id guys where laying dead. Then the revolt happens and nyra and the other seps are still in the city and dead on the usual spot. I travel to the fake id hut and fenk lays dead on the ground in front of the hut. So is there a way to safe the seps while the outlaws are revolting on there own?
To my knowledge the Seps in Abessa join the revolt regardless. Theres no way to save them. They either join the Outlaw revolt and get killed by the Xacor Albs or the join the Revolt and get killed by the Clerics.
There is only 2 outcomes option1 domed city ruled by clerics supported by berserkers option2 Albs Kill everyone and takeover period. ps none of the factions within the domed city are allied with there factions they are neutral meaning siding against the outlaws in the domed city will not have any consequences with the outlaws in tavar hope this helps.
I helped clerics with robots and radio station and other technical stuff, didnt hijack anything.
I killed Hunter and other outlaws outside the city.
Then I kept playing. At some point several days later I received a bunch of notifications about Abessa conflict and some quests getting cancelled. So I immediately reloaded the last save, teleported to Abessa and did some testing with remaining quests….
5) Fake ids – regardless of the choice, outlaws rebelled.
6) Separatists – no matter whether I finished their quest in their favor or just didnt finish it, whether I made Nyra technician or not, they always rebelled and were killed.
7) Vivian – in the end she was happy about Rorik but yelled at me for picking Nyra (You almost got me killed! or something like that).
So in the end I turned in faked ids, chose Rorik as technician and expelled the separatists. The city stands, outlaws are dead, but Alois and Caleb still react like the seperatists supported the rebellion.
If the seps and outlaws revolt successful will the city still stand or will it always fall? I only did the domed city dispute twice and both times i sided with the cleric/berserks.
Sadly no. A successful revolt ends with the Xacor Albs noticing that the Dome is down and using the opportunity to slaughter everyone in the city before the separatists can reactivate the Dome. Ive yet to hear of the city still standing if the revolt succeeds and overthrows the Clerics.
playng neutral bring the albs to attack the city: the Albs have spy inside the city, they just wait a moment of chaos for exploit the weakness, so only if the clerics appear strong and capable of defend the city the albs will be stopped.
I let the alb be the shield technician
I beat up Riley for the berserker (although he is a giant dick)
I killed the outlaws in front of the city
I didnt plant a listening device
I finished the quest from the beggar after the event
I didnt turn in fake IDs and gave the other one to the outlaw inside
= Clerics kept the city, although I got bad comments from vivian? that I chose the wrong technician and that the shield failed because of that (although it seemed to be active still). The others were all happy with me.
I pretty much helped the separatists on everything, but I was not nice to the outlaws at all (with exception for the IDs). I dont remember if the NPC in question also got killed when I decided to get rid of the outlaws. I also did all quests for them before killing them.
Its my understanding that Nyra is one of the ringleaders of the revolt, does she remain alive in your game? Did the Seperstists join the revolt still? I chose nyra once but lost the city and I chose the beserker one and kept the city but Nyra was executed, which is why I assume shes one of the ring leaders. Maybe thats why Vivian chewed you out for convincing her to give access to Nyra, who in turn brought the shield down for a moment?
They did join the revolt and she is dead in my game. I remember her corpse being placed very prominently, but I dont know where it was exactly.
Is there any way to finish the abessa dispute quest? I follow the marker when it say I should go see what happened and I check the dead outlaw bodies but the quest is always still active.
I have the same problem and havent found a fix yet. The outcome happens and the quest is finished but Still shows in my quest log sadly :(.
somebody mentioned 3 days after the realease that u need to go east from the City to some kind of small lake and that there are some Survivours left but i didnt find them so idk for sure
